Overview
Account credits are another way to reward loyal customers who share your site with friends. Account credits can be awarded as discounts, redeemable points or cash. Account credits differ from other reward options in that they are tied to user accounts. You can use them to reward friends who have created new accounts and the advocates who referred them. Account credits can also be combined with other reward options such as coupon-codes and gift cards, adding variety to your campaign.Add Account Credits
To add account credits, create a new reward in the Rewards section of your Extole account.- Navigate to Rewards and hit + New Reward.

- Enter a descriptive name and set the Denomination (USD, CAD, percentage off, etc.), the Type (Account Credit or Loyalty Points), and specify the Fixed or Dynamic value.
- Select your fulfillment method.
- Enable or disable reward emails.
- Set Limits to alert you when too many rewards are fulfilled in an hour or a day.
- Specify if you would like to be alerted when rewards are not fulfilled within a certain timeframe or if you would like to fail rewards that have not been fulfilled within a certain timeframe.
Use the Get Rewards API to Apply Daily Account Credits
Extole tracks account credits earned by advocates and friends, based on the incentive rules selected during the configuration process. A tally of generated and fulfilled rewards is maintained by the Rewards API. A daily call to the Reward API provides a list of the previous day’s account credits, but it is up to you to apply these credits to the correct accounts on your website. The Rewards API will return two pieces of identifying information for each account as it tallies account credits:- recipient_email – the email address of the person who has earned the account credit
- recipient_identifier – usually this is the unique partner_user_id that was passed to Extole through the sharing experience in a zone tag
