# Earned Reward Emails

# Overview

Earned Reward Emails are triggered messages sent when an Advocate or Friend completes a qualifying action and becomes eligible for a reward. These emails confirm reward eligibility and provide the next step to redeem or use the reward, such as a coupon code or a Tremendous redemption link.

# **Types of Earned Reward Emails**

## **Coupon Rewards: Promo Code or Discount**

### **Recommended Email Content**

Include essential information above the fold:

* A clear headline (example: “You earned X% off” or “Here’s your \$Y reward”)

* The coupon code displayed prominently

* An optional CTA (example: “Use code” or “Shop now”)

Include key terms and constraints:

* Expiration date

* Minimum spend

* Exclusions or eligibility rules

## **Tremendous Rewards: Gift Cards or Cash Equivalents**

### **Recommended Email Content**

Keep the message concise and action-oriented:

* A short confirmation (example: “Your reward is ready”)

* One primary CTA (example: “Redeem reward”)

* Brief instructions aligned to your flow:

  * “Choose your reward option”

  * “You’ll receive a follow-up email to complete redemption” (include only if applicable)

## **Reward Reporting Tools**

Extole provides reporting to help you monitor and analyze reward fulfillment:

* **Earned Rewards Report** : Tracks who earned each reward, fulfillment status, and supplier type.

* **Reward Transitions Report** : Shows reward state changes with timestamps, values, and suppliers.

* **Rewards by State Report** : Displays counts by status over time, with filters for test and production environments.

# **Key Metrics for Earned Reward Emails**

Use these metrics to monitor deliverability, engagement, and reward outcomes:

* **Triggered** : Number of times the email was initiated.

* **Delivered (Deliverability Rate)** : Delivered ÷ Triggered.

* **Unique Open Rate** : Unique Opens ÷ Delivered.

* **Click-to-Open Rate (CTOR)** : Clicks ÷ Unique Opens.

* **Sent to Redeemed Rate** : Percentage of issued rewards that were redeemed.

* **Share Rate** : Measures whether recipients go on to share the program as Advocates. This is especially relevant when Friends convert.

# **Best Practices for High-Performing Earned Reward Emails**

### **Make It Immediately Clear**

Design for clarity and focus:

* One clear message (example: “You earned X”)

* One clear action (example: “Redeem” or “Use code”)

* Simple instructions in 2 to 4 bullets

This is especially important for Tremendous flows that require multiple steps.

### **A/B Test Key Elements**

Extole supports A/B testing of email drivers, including:

* Subject lines (example: “Reward earned” vs. “Your code inside”)

* CTA text (example: “Redeem now” vs. “Choose your reward”)

* Layout decisions (example: placing the code above the fold)

* Reminder strategy, such as optional follow-up emails
