Gmail has unilaterally decided to change its DMARC policy, which means that Referral Emails sent using [gmail.com](http://gmail.com/) in the from address, will have to originate from Gmail's infrastructure:

* Impact to referral programs: Referral Emails sent from Advocate's with a "@[gmail.com](http://gmail.com/)" email will be changed to "[@email.referral-mail.com](mailto:advocate@email.referral-mail.com)"; all replie-tos, however, will be to the advocate's actual email address.
* Extole has been extensively testing the impact of sending emails from the advocate versus sending emails using the alternate email address format.
* Our testing has shown there is no change to friend CTR based on this change
* Extole will be building a new integration with Gmail that will help us support our original integration of coming from the friend.
* In the meantime, we do not expect any impact to your program - though we will continue to help you to monitor for any changes to friend click through rate performance.
